About TechForLive

TechForLive has been online since 2012. It began as a small blog about Android phones, processors, data recovery and hobby robots. In 2026 it was rebuilt around one idea: show the tech news as it happens, then explain what it means for normal people.

How the Live Wire works

Every 30 minutes an automated job reads the public news feeds of 15 tech newsrooms, including The Verge, Ars Technica, TechCrunch, Wired, Engadget, ZDNET, BleepingComputer, The Register and Hacker News. Each headline is sorted into a desk (AI, phones, security and so on) by keyword rules. When several outlets publish the same story, it is grouped and its heat rises on the Heat Board.

We show the headline, a short excerpt and the source, and link straight to the original article. The reporting belongs to those newsrooms. Nothing on the wire is rewritten or summarised by machines.

How guides are written

Guides are written by the TechForLive Desk for people who are not tech experts. We stick to facts that can be checked in manufacturer documentation, standards bodies or official help pages. When something depends on your device or country, we say so rather than guess. Guides are updated when the advice changes.

How the site is funded

Some guides recommend products and services through affiliate links. If you buy through them we may earn a commission, which never changes the price you pay. Recommendations come first, links second. See the affiliate disclosure.
